Original Email: Hi Dawn, Sask Parks has two questions for CPC members: 1. Looking for a contact in jurisdictions to gain information about volunteer policies, procedures, programs, recruitment, training, recognition. Also a contact for third Party Donations and Sponsorships – also related to policies, procedures, regulations, management (financial and program). Please forward to Mary Anne Wihak at mary-anne.wihak@gov.sk.ca 2. Requesting information/policies from CPC jurisdictions on how they approach the use of inflatable/kiddie pools within their respective campgrounds, curious about liability issues. Please forward to Dave Bjarnason at dave.bjarnason@gov.sk.ca. Is it possible to float these two requests out there? Thank you. Robin

COMMENTS: Lynn from New Brunswick Parks here….I would be happy to answer your questions regarding Volunteer Policies and Third Party Donations. The simple answer for right now is that we have no policies on those issues. It’s been a topic of discussion for some time now but we haven’t had the opportunity to formalize anything. I would be very interested in finding out what you do find out from other jurisdictions. It would be of great help as we work to establish our own policies.   Our seasonal campers agreement states that any “extra equipment” brought onto the campsite will require the permission of the Park Manager. This includes things such as privacy fencing, decking, trampolines, all terrain vehicles, swimming pools, etc. I can’t say that we have received any request for swimming pools or inflatables. If we do, it would be on a case by case and most likely declined for safety and liability purposes. If you have any further questions, I’m happy to help!
